Nancy, another very sweet neighbor along with her twin Kathy and family. While we come from a great group of kids back in the day,  there was something about the McEvoys that was special, they were so prim and proper, just so damn sweet. I wasn't the perfect kid, and I will always remember the  "scolding, dipping, 'eye' they would give me now and then, Kathy more than Nancy, as I would see them a lot since we were only a few houses apart, often walked along to and from school together.   Another great childhood friend, gone too soon.     Rest in peace Nancy.

I fondly remember both Nancy and Kathy.  After high school. I would occasionally bump into Nancy and we would discuss our Ursuline days and keep up with current happenings.  She always had a smile and a curious quality in her voice when she would joke or recall funny incidents from high school or elsewhere.  I will miss our occasional run-ins.

Remembering my dear 'north-side friends' with gratitude.  Nancy was always a gentle soul with a gracious way.  It was a privilege to be welcomed into the McEvoy household.

Chuck and Tom's comments brought back vivid memories.

So very sorry to have lost such a lovely girl...woman so young.  I've kept a photo from the paper for almost 50 years. of my dear friends the Sturgeons and the Machugas and of course the McEvoy sisters. The common bond, of course, was that they were the 3 sets of twins in our class...I can't remember whether it was St. Ed's or Ursuline.  My deepest sympathy to her family.

Thank you! Today I re-read your comments about Nancy and her untimely death. They touched me deeply. Nancy had scleroderma, a nasty auto-immune disease that she lived with and ultimately died of. She loved her family, especially Jeanne & Tom Sauline's boys. Having been a dedicated and hard-working member of the Sisters of the Holy Humility of Mary ('blue nuns') for 25 or so years, she relished her final years after she left, with apartment living and owning a car and the freedoms that she had. Her illness took a toll and she was worn out by the time of her death. We miss her - I miss her - and if she were here, she probably would have kept me informed of all the news on this site. Thanks again for your kind comments about Nancy, and for this site.
