Bob and I worked the night shift one summer watering greens at Mill Creek golf course.  He had the front 18 and I had the back 18.  There was this playful fox who would suddenly appear in our headlights, sometimes on the front 18 and sometimes on the back 18.  If I recall correctly, he lived on the side of number 18 hole on the back.  We would gun our scooters and wildly chase the critter until he disappeared.  Sometimes, it would reappear and the chase would be on again.  Also, there was this raccoon family that would visit in the shop.  The mom, pop, and three youngsters.  We would hide pieces of our sandwiches in our pockets and let the little ones search for the treats.  The parents never entered themselves but stayed by the garage door watching us. Back then, both Bob and I were quite skinny.  Bob would say that we were built for speed, not endurance.  I frequently recall that summer working with Bob.  Catch that critter, Bob!!!!!!!!!!

Pete (Bob) was my roommate for a while at Ohio State University. He was a great guy and was always considerate of others. He provided a helping hand whenever someone needed it. He was focused on his studies and wanted his education to enable to work at Mill Creek Park taking care of the turf. He was a good man.
