William M. “Bill” Deskin

COVE, TEXAS – William M. “Bill” Deskin, 65, was born March 23, 1948, in Youngstown and passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at his home.

He was an U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, having served with the Seabees and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Baytown Chapter No. 922 and the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a millwright by trade and worked at U. S. Steel and various area petrochemical plants.

He enjoyed coaching and umpiring little league baseball games. He was an avid motorcycle rider and took great pride in the fact that no matter how far the trip, he never trailered his bike – he rode it. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lillian Deskin.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret “Meg” Morley Deskin of Cove; sons, William Travis Deskin of Austin, Texas, Brian Deskin of New Orleans and Sean Deskin of Cove; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Chris Keesler of Dickinson, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, Daniel and Kathy Deskin and James Deskin, all of Youngstown; sister and brother-in-law, Joan E. Deskin and Bruce Balzer of Painesville; nephews, Mike and Sam Deskin of Youngstown; and grandson, William Maxwell Deskin.

His family will greet friends at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church LeBlanc Community Room, 3515 Trinity St., Mont Belvieu, TX 77580, on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, beginning at 4:30 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 5:30 p.m. and a Mass of Resurrection at 6 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Khanh Ho officiating.
