ALBERT MIHALY III

COITSVILLE - Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, for Albert Mihaly III, 66, who passed away Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Albert was born Aug. 5, 1948, in Youngstown, the son of Albert and Anna Kotsch Mihaly II.

A lifelong resident of Coitsville, Albert was a 1966 graduate of Ursuline High School.

He married the love of his life, Anne Pilorusso, on Dec. 11, 1971.

He grew up and worked for many years of his life on the Mihaly Dairy Farm in Coitsville. They were one of the last dairies in Mahoning County to process milk in glass bottles and sell it door to door, which they did until 1999.

Albert also spent 15 years selling agricultural supplies, as well as educating dairy farmers in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania, on improving their herd health and the quality of their milk product. He enjoyed traveling to his many meetings to learn about products and practices to improve dairy farming and the lives of all farmers.

Albert also owned and operated two small sub shops, with the help of his daughters, from 2004 until 2010.

He also enjoyed jumping in the car with his wife, Anne, and traveling to different wineries in upstate New York, Niagara Falls and many other places.

When his health no longer allowed him to do many of the things he loved to do, he learned to cook. He spent much of his time in the kitchen making homemade pasta and many other delicious things for his family and beloved grandsons, who were his pride and joy. He was happiest surrounded by his grandchildren.

Albert leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Anne Mihaly; his daughters, Annie (Charles) Butch, Alice Mihaly, Amy (Matt) Pickens, and Amanda (Nather Al-Halalmeh) Mihaly; four grandsons; his sister, Elizabeth (Jim) Fisher; brother Paul (Mary Ann) Mihaly; many nieces and nephews; and Joe Salata, who grew up in the family home and was like a brother.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents.

“To live in the hearts of others is not to die.”

The Mihaly family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
