HUBBARD – There will be services held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for John R. “Ron” Walsh, 70, who passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House in Poland.
Ron was born Dec. 19, 1947, in Culver City, Calif., a son of John P. and Ilene J. Sigel Walsh.
He was a 1966 graduate of Ursuline High School.
He was a welder for Wean United and later a quality control inspector in the nuclear industry, retiring in 2012.
Ron was an avid hunter, fishermen, pool player, and coin collector, and also had five United States Patents.
He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, American Welding Association, and APA Pool League.
Ron will be sadly missed by his family; his wife, the former Rosemary Henaghan whom he married May 1, 1976, his son, Shawn D. (Jennifer) Walsh, and his daughter, Shannon M. Walsh, all of Hubbard; and his grandson, Daniel L. Walsh, who was the “Apple of his eye.”
He also leaves his siblings, Timothy (Susan) Walsh of N. Huntington, Pa., Kevin Walsh (fiancé June Newell) of Ackworth, Ga., Fr. Michael Walsh of Ossining, N.Y., Mary (Dr. Greg) Kezele of Highland Hts., Ann (Jonathan) Featsent of Willowick, and brother-in-law Charles E. (Mary Jane) Henaghan of Huntington, Pa.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel J. Walsh.
There will be calling hours on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.
Ron will be laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
