SHIRLEY ANN LOSCH

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Shirley Ann Losch, 65, passed away peacefully at 9:25 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at Hospice of Copley, following an extended illness.

Shirley was born in Youngstown on Nov. 29, 1948, the daughter of Vincent Joseph and Shirley Jean (Kirsty) Fergus.

Shirley was a 1966 graduate of Ursuline High School. She earned a degree in Nursing from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing, followed by a Bachelors of Science in Health Care Services from Empire State College in New York. She worked in the nursing profession as a registered nurse for many years in various fields, most recently in early childhood education.

Shirley was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She lived in Niles, Elizabethtown, N.Y. and Fort Myers, Fla. Shirley recently came back to the Ohio area to be close to her family and grandchildren, whom she dearly loved and missed. She especially enjoyed the Adirondack Mountains, Broadway musicals, the arts and Disney.

Shirley is survived by her parents of Naples, Fla.; three daughters, Kimberly (Kristopher) King of Austintown, and Colleen (Darrin) Mitchell and Maureen Losch, both of Cuyahoga Falls; brother Joseph Fergus of Youngstown; sister Kathy Trina of Washington State; granddaughter Kelsey King and grandson Kristopher King, both of Austintown; two nephews, Adam Trina, Christopher (Lindsay) Trina; and niece Amy Trina.

Following Shirley’s request, there will be a small memorial service at Lincoln Pond, New Russia, N.Y., in the fall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local hospice chapter in memory of Shirley for the years that she was employed as a dedicated Hospice Nurse and caregiver.

I was so sorry to hear Shirley passed away. We were good friends in high school and roommates at St. E's School of Nursing,, until she became the very first married student! Our whole class was so excited for her, I remmebr the surprise bridal shower we had for her on campus. Shirley was always a fun and very caring friend. I forget which one of us moved away first, when we did we lost contact with each other,,,,,  sure sorry for that now. May you rest in peace, dearest old friend.
