Robert Snyder
FEBRUARY 17, 1948 – DECEMBER 25, 2025
Robert “Bob” David Snyder, age 77, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025. He was born on February 17, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Youngstown Ursuline High School and The Ohio State University.
He retired from Columbus Metropolitan Library where he served as Circulation Manager at Karl Road Branch then the Hilltop Branch. Bob was most proud of the many staff he hired who stayed and made a career at the Library.
Bob did his best to make things fun for everyone. He had many and varied interests including music -- he loved to play DJ -- craft beer, pinball, co-rec softball and volleyball, gardening and backyard bird watching. He was an avid reader and loved to tell stories -- often with props for show and tell.
Bob had a gentle soul that touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by his wife and partner Carol Knoblauch, sister Mary Beth Snyder, nephews Bob Kelty, Mike Smith, Tim Smith, Kevin Smith, nieces Jennifer Snyder and Julie Snyder Exline, and many lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. Details to be added to www.Schoedinger.com at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Humane or Catholic Relief Services.

I remember Bob or Snitch as being a really funny guy. I first talked to him when he was playing quarterback for St Brendan's. I was watching the game standing near the end zone at Volney Roger's field. He was standing in play about to receive the kickoff and was telling me jokes. All of a sudden, the football comes bouncing down the field into his arms. He took off and ran the kickoff back for a touchdown. I just stood in amazement as he transformed from comedian to athlete. I am sure that Bob brought a lot of joy to our world, and he is most likely doing so in Heaven.
